The Amorgian Salad “Amorgiani” is in fact a local version of the Greek Salad. As per the well known “Greek Salad”, the Amorgian version consists of fresh tomatoes, cucumber, olives, onions, olive oil, capers and the difference is that instead of feta cheese, in Amorgos is used the local Xinomizithra.
It is common to see various alternatives in the ingredients that are used. Green peppers may be added, or capers omitted, but both the Greek Salad and the Amorgiani Salad are the perfect refreshing dishes for the hot days of the summer.
